I think that my ritual is quite simply that I cannot sit still when I am writing. I fervently oppose the "apply butt to seat" method of writing often taught in schools. For me, writing is active; it's alive, and if I'm not getting out of my seat to celebrate the intensity, or to scrape up some more energy, I'm not doing it right.

1)Find a bar where writers congregate.

2)Have the most accomplished or promising one take me home.

3)Steal their work while they sleep.

4)Publish it as my own.

4)Repeat

So, you're saying published writers don't just wake up, go to a desk in a garret, pick up a quill feather pen, dip it in a bottle of ink, ponder their muse (briefly), then write page after page of perfect prose? Major illusion shatterment here.
